Cool!
But is there way to install the game from terminal? I have lubuntu and don't have software center by default, and don't really want to install it. I tried to do it on one pc, but there blub installation wasn't successful
Yes, it was my first purchased game in software center. I don't like it very much, because it's too slow on my computer and as we can see buggy
So additional deb packages will be useful for such users like me
Today I've tried to install Blubvolley from Ubuntu Software Center, but it wasn't successful. I searched for "Blubvolley", then the page opened, where were only link to blub-game.com/for1 and a link for buying game. But the game is for $0, so why have i buy it?
I'm using ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 64 bit. So how to install the game?
and a link for buying game
That's what you need. Click it, enter your email and password from ubuntu account (ubuntu one or other service), if you don't have it you should register. After you log in installation will begin.
Also don't forget about this bug of software center.
game is for $0, so why have i buy it
thats a really strange naming of Canonical - u buy it for zero dollar - you dont have do give them any payment-information.
U only must to register.
Have fun

Well,i've successfuly installed the game - thx GK and Markus
it runs ok in ubuntu, it seemed to me that it is better to play than in WinXP.
Only two bugs i noticed:
1.no sound.
2.in menu "Options" i can't change anything.
1. won't change till 1.2
2. update is in approvement

Confirm! Game is really smoother than in XP!
Only two bugs i noticed
No, there are more bugs. For example, not possible to save replays, crashes during making screenshot and some others about which i already wrote in this forum. Hope Markus wll fix them soon.
Markus, do you know how blubVolley runs without official nvidia driver? I have 2 computers with old graphics cards, but nvidia-96 driver is broken in 12.04 and probably will be never fixed
If i'll use nouveau driver, will blubVolley run as smooth as with official driver? Or i'd better to downgrade to 11.10?
P.S. When will be deb-package to install blub without this ugly software center?
My Laptop has a Intel 8500 HD Graphics in it and no nvidia-driver; and it runs perfectly.
As long as a driver supports OpenGl there shouldn't be any problem.
@deb: this month I've got lots of exams; I'll try to release the deb today evening.
Markus
That will be perfect
Attached a standalone linuxVersion of the game, which should work on any linux not just Ubuntu.
http://blub-game.com/beta/blubVolley_1.1_linux.tar.gz
@GK: may u tell me if it works on your system (I'm not sure if it only works on my developer pc)
However 1.1 has the same bugs as the ubuntu-version and calls for 1.2 too.
Markus
That's cool, but instructions how to install will be useful for such noobs as me
I tried "$ ./blubVolley" but got "no access", even as root. Is this right way or i've completely mistaken in commands?
ok
U shouldn't need any terminal and NO root to start. Simply unpack the *.tar.gz where ever u want to. then "browse" the folder until u see the files blubVolley_amd64 blubVolley_x86 and blubVolley. Double click on blubVolley and it should start.
U'll find a file called "dependencies" too. install all this packages with "sudo apt-get install <the packages listed in the file>"; only once needed
Have fun
Markus
Doubleclicking blubVolley was my first step, but nothing happened, so that i went to terminal. But as dependencies aren't installed yet, i couldn't say if your method works or not. Will try again today in the evening.
Ups, today no time to check, will do it in next few days when my new upgraded computer will be ready for use - i want to try it in clean system.
great thx!
I haven't bought one of main components for a new pc, so couldn't test it yet, but i bought wi-fi router and could test installing on my netbook. Unfortunately, i couldn't install blub on it. I installed all dependencies, double clicked blubVolley (and blubVolley_x86 too), pressed launch (and run in terminal too), but no success, nothing happens
Lubuntu 12.04, 32 bit
